Travel will always equate to luggage or bags, at the very least. For someone who loves (and lives) to travel, it is imperative that my luggage can handle the travel and can still look pretty. Sadly, some of my luggage have seen better days and others that I have bought did not pass the travel test.

What do I need for my luggage? I need it to be strong, sturdy, safe and pretty. Nothing wrong with having some plain looking luggage in black, red or silver but my personality needs to show in my luggage as well. And I have poor vision so having something bright and pretty would be easy to spot in the carousel.

TUMI’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection may just tick all the boxes in my luggage requirements. Though they usually have darker colors and more masculine cuts, they cannot be faulted for having really good quality bags and trolleys. To introduce the collection, Tumi Philippines hosted an intimate dinner at Whitespace, Makati. The venue was dressed up to give the guests a feel of Havana while browsing the collection. Tumi Philippines brand manager Frances de Guzman showed me the little things that make Tumi very special. She got quite excited with the reflectorized bags that change color when light is flashed on them. I love it when a brand manager is excited about their product!

The collection is inspired by Havana, Cuba’s capital city. The collection includes some redesigns of the previous Alpha Bravo collection. The collection reflects the spirit of Havana – a city steeped with passion, history and a certain lust for life.

I personally love the 19 degree in rose gold! There’s something about hard case luggage that gets my rocks off. I love how sturdy it is and if you check out the corners, it is so cleverly designed to take on the beatings but doesn’t take away the aesthetics.
