Piquadro Philippines held and celebrated its first major event via an intimate and sophisticated press launch dubbed the “Piquadro Private Party.” The Italian Luxury brand, known for its leather business bags and travel accessories, elegantly dressed and set up the stunning venue that is the Kirov Model Unit in an inviting “showroom-style boutique” at the Proscenium Showroom in Rockwell in partnership with Rockwell Land.

DJ Jess Milner piped her groovy rhythmic house-y beats through every one of the six rooms of the Kirov model unit such that the collection viewing became a multi-sensory treat for the guests and members of the press: not only were they able to view, touch and feel and learn about each Piquadro collection (thanks to the Piquadro experts assigned to each room) but they were able to enjoy the sounds, nibble on the scrumptious Chef Jessie canapés and imbibe the special one-off cocktails concocted by Edsa Beverage (of Curator fame).

On display in both the impressively grand Master’s Bedroom and lavish Living Room was the trademark line of Piquadro – the Blue Square collection; the Queen’s Room featured the Caterina and Deneb lines – both lines being for women; the Twin Room displayed the über functional Signo and Link collections; the Dining Room showcased the scene-stealing Antonio Marras-Piquadro collaboration; and finally, the Office was home to the Coleos and Vibe collections.

Commencing the program proper was esteemed guest, the Charge d’Affaires Alfonso Tagliaferri of the Italian Embassy who shared some soundbytes on the world-renowned Italian reputation and flair for fashion and style. Welcoming the VIPs and members of press was Brand Gateway, Inc.’s (the exclusive distributor of Piquadro in the Philippines) CEO, Gabriele Boschi; the Travel Retail and Wholesale Director of Asia & Pacific, Florence Nguyen (who flew in especially for the occasion); as well as the Brand Manager for Piquadro Philippines, Jan Andrew Naval.

Throughout the evening, special guests such as Tessa Prieto-Valdes, Popsie Gamboa, Tessa Alindogan, Ces Tan, Maika Cruz, Nicole Cruz, Mye Cruz, Tata Saavedra, Mike Toledo, photographer-model Sandor Simon, the Baghagdiaries celeb blogger Ingrid Chua-Go, Rosanna Ocampo-Rodriguez, Richard Tiu, Rosan Cruz, Dominic and Angelique La O-Uy, DJ Alven Villavicencio, Dr. Lorraine Uy, Ian Galliguez and Ash Ghasemi poured in despite the uncooperative weather. It was also a plus that three gorgeous Piquadro bags (the Computer messenger from the Signo Collection, the Women’s computer bag from the Caterina Collection and the Computer Portfolio from the Altair Collection) were up for grabs and were awarded to those who posted the best picture of their favourite Piquadro piece on display and posted it with the hash tag #PiquadroPH. The lucky (and creative) three winners were Tessa Alindogan, Maika Cruz and Men’s Health Lifestyle Editor, Amador Madamba.

Media personalities present at the Piquadro Private Party were the lovely and stunning ladies from Business + Class, Mia Tambunting-Padilla and Rima Ostwani; ABS-CBN’s Philip Cu-Unjieng; Metro Society’s Anton Barretto; Manila Bulletin’s Style Weekend EIC Liza Ilarde-Cuenca; Tedrick Yau; TV Host for Executive Class/ Vault’s EIC David Celdran; Rogue’s driving forces, Publisher Ipe Cruz and EIC Paolo Reyes; Esquire’s EIC Erwin Romulo, Preview’s Isha Andaya-Valles, Town & Country’s Pierre Calasanz, Circuit magazine’s JR Isaac; Asian Dragon’s lovely Christine Uychiaoco; Expat magazine’s President & Managing Director, Butch Bonsol and Managing Editor, Agnes Abrau; Stylebible.ph’s Zoe Laurente; Men’s Health EIC Peejo Pilar and Amador Madamba; Top Gear’s Publisher, Jeff Reyes; and lastly, JP Calimbas, Richard Cunanan, Kit Payumo and Bert Casal of the Calibre team were also all out in full force.

Echoing and reinforcing Piquadro’s “Tech Inside” brand DNA and the sometimes ultra-masculine or ultra-feminine stories unfolded by each of Piquadro’s collections, was Edsa Beverage’s special bar list: The signature cocktail “THE PIQUADRO” (Tequila, honey syrup, butterfly pea, and a dash of Angostura Bitters) was certainly a massive hit, literally and figuratively; then there was the TUSCAN MULE (Amaretto, EDSA’s ginger shrub, and soda water); the BOULEVARDIER (Bourbon, Campari, Cinzano Rosso); and THE LAUREN (EDSA’s lemongrass-infused gin, Hypnotique liqueur, butterfly pea, and lemon juice) – four wonderfully delicious (albeit heady) reasons that ended the successful launch on very, very happy note.
