The world’s most respected and iconic cognac brand recently hosted an exclusive dinner for 40 distinguished guests at Old Manila in The Manila Peninsula. Louis XIII from the house of Remy Martin was the center of attraction for that night as it toasts to tradition and excellence.

Old Manila was elegantly decorated with beautifully showcased lit glass cases of special and rare decanters of the special Louis XIII cognac. Other brands of cognac from Maison Remy Martin were also on display.

International Ambassador for Louis XIII Miss Chian Mei Gan flew in from Cognac, France to be part of the event and shared with everyone, the passion, complexity and tradition behind the creation of every decanter of Louis XIII. Louis XIII has the most legendary history of all prestigious cognacs since its creation in 1874 and was showcased at the 1900 Paris universal Exhibition. Cognac is specifically made in the region of France with the same name, and for Remy Martin, their site located at the Grande Champagne is rated as the best location where the finest cognac is made.


Joining the guests for a specially curated 5 course meal by Old Manila Chef de Cuisine Bertrand Charles were Lucerne’s Mr. Emerson Yao with Remy Cointreau’s Mr. Antonio J. Pineda. The dinner’s highlight was the opening of a special decanter of Louis XIII for the guests to enjoy. Special Remy Martin pliers held the special cognac that was made with centuries of skill, passion and luxury. Chian Mei Gan led everyone to a cognac appreciation ceremony and toasted to tradition and excellence.

Among the very distinguished guests in attendance were Dennis and Tessa Valdes, Victor and Linda Ley, Abet and Pinky Antonio, Severino and Jonalyn Lim, Jonathan and Stephanie Crespi, Sheila Romero, Gary James Go of GT Stoneworks, Emerson Yao of Lucerne, Romy Sia of Wine Story, Noel Sebastian of Future Trade and Ernest Cu of Globe Telecom.
