Kim and Atticus King, Attorney Rod Nepomuceno and Tanya Llana

To be completely honest, I have R. Kelly in my head while I’m typing this. There is no logical connection to Ignition and R. Kelly with the exception of the word itself. However, I think the whole ethos of the song and the company is to put fuel in the flame that is already there and turn it into a blazing bonfire! In a manner of speaking, of course. Please put down the phone and don’t call the Fire department.

Ignition is the first Venture Studio of its kind in the Philippines. It is a fully integrated market entry platform. A one-stop-shop business solutions firm. “We make doing business in the Philippines easy.”

Being an entrepreneur in the Philippines is complex. Being an entrepreneur anywhere is complex! There’s the passionate and creative part of it: the making of the product or service, developing it to be something of value and can help other people; the branding and marketing and showing it off. Then there’s the other equally important part of it (which I call the “adulting” part of business) which would be the business registration, the tax form filing, the procurement of official receipts, an office, staff and all the other accoutrements that come along with putting up a business. Nope, it’s not like when you were a kid where you just set up a small table outside your front door. These tasks often make it daunting to the creative minds that they end up shoving their passion and dreams in a box and then leaving it there.

Ignition helps entrepreneurs by providing these services to them so that they can pursue their passions and what they are good at: creating. This is a godsend for a person like me who is creative but have to drag myself to do the other stuff. Their services include:

  • Business Registration (incl. Co-Founders Agreement, a.k.a business partner’s pre-nup)
  • Government compliance
  • Corporate Housekeeping
  • Immigration
  • Real Estate Transactions
  • Intellectual Property (trademarks)
  • Accounting/Book Keeping and Tax Filings
  • Human Resource Management
  • Tax Planning

Tanya Llana, the company’s PR and Marketing head states that it’s not just the back-end services that they offer. They also provide Ignition spaces – co-working spaces that are connected and conducive to business. “The office is more than just a place to work. The workplace should not only provide all the tools needed in the entrepreneur’s business, it should also inspire him/her to succeed. Ignition space is particularly designed to project an image of confidence, success, and a high level of competence.” Llana states. They have:

  • Private Office Space
  • Co-working space
  • Memberships
  • Event Space
  • Meeting Rooms
  • Business Address and Mailing Services

A business is more than these things though and Ignition understand that more than anything, you need to be able to present your product or service to your target market and residual market. This is where their business concierge comes in. Ignition has relationships with reputable service providers. They can recommend and facilitate discussions with the following entities for more boutique and specialized services:

  • Law firms
  • Accounting firms
  • Customs Brokers
  • Banks
  • Private Investigation Agencies
  • Real Estate Brokers
  • Security Agencies
  • Events and PR Firms
  • Travel Agencies

Founded by Juan Paolo Villonco (lawyer), Atticus King (serial entrepreneur), Mark Tiaoqui (Tax lawyer) and Margo Flores (real estate and finance goddess), Ignition is not just a business. It is in the business of making YOUR business succeed.
