If you’re looking for an adrenaline pumping activity in Manila that does not involve screaming at crazy bus, jeep or truck drivers, you can take the “safer” activity by jumping off a 40 foot platform at DropZone.

There’s something to be said about facing your fear and if your fear is falling, heights or jumping off high platforms, then you can most definitely face them at DropZone. But before you think that it’s a crazy dangerous stunt equivalent to any stunt performed on Jackass, let me assure you that it’s absolutely safe.

The tower is internationally certified and all the gear is provided for by Towertech Safety Management, Philippines number 1 safety management company. You don’t actually drop like potato hot drop but more of a drop when you jump and then a slow descent when you’re almost at 5 feet off the ground. Then you get caught by the soft foam floor. It’s pretty radical.

I won’t lie and say that it’s not scary. It is pretty scary but if your desire of an adrenaline rush is bigger than your fear, you should totally try it. The guys at the booth said that the youngest jumper was 4 years old. Well, if a 4-year-old kid can do it, I should be able to do it, right? Right.

I did it! I was so proud after I jumped and was so relieved that it was done, that was until they said I had to go back up to do the second jump.

Drop Zone is located at SM MoA by the bay and the jump costs Php200 and includes a safety lecture. They have a camera set up for you if you want them to take a photo of your jump but that costs Php50 more. They’re open 7 days a week (Mondays – Thursdays from 5:30 pm to 12 midnight and Fridays to Sundays from 5pm to 1am) You can check out their website for more information or visit their Facebook page.
