One of the reasons why I love food is that it brings people together regardless of how old they are or how different their lives are. Food was what brought my friendship with actress, Kazel Kinouchi. I regularly ask this woman if she still has all her ribs because she is so svelte. Do not be deceived though as this woman has the appetite of a ravenous gorilla. I love the fact that she is unashamed with her appetite and gladly encourages me to order from our favourite food delivery apps during filming. So, when I got invited to try the Churrasco inspired buffet at Crimson Filinvest’s Cafe Eight, I knew exactly who to take as my date.

Nothing says Sunday like a family bonding over a buffet brunch filled with barbequed meats and international cuisines. Café Eight restaurant at Crimson Hotel Filinvest City, Manila is offering a churrasco inspired dining experience every Sunday in addition to its sumptuous buffet spread – spoiling every kind of palate an array of choices.

Churrasco refers to grilling meat over an open fire which originated in Latin America and Europe but became more popular in Brazil. And like all churrascaria, once the guests turn their personal dining card to green, a variety of meat is brought to the table, sliced off from the skewer and served right to their plates.

You can have your options of savory grilled beef sirloin, lamb leg, pork loin, Brazilian pork sausage, pork liver, chicken thigh and chicken breast wrapped in bacon. BACON. Don’t forget to balance the meats with barbequed vegetables and fruits which the guests can dip on chimichurri, cilantro lemon butter sauce or tomato salsa.

Anyone who had enough of these meats can try Café Eight’s other buffet menu selection. The appetizer section features the Make Your Own Salad, cold cuts, bread and cheeses and the soup of the day. Save some space for servings of fresh seafood, baked oysters, and other international flavors such as the Mediterranean, Indian, and Filipino. Diners can give in to their sweet temptation at the dessert corner while others can satisfy their cravings for champorado, congee, eggs benedict and more at the breakfast section. The little ones can have their own fill of burgers, hotdogs, spaghetti, cupcake, cotton candy at the kiddie buffet.
